Phivos urban residential Zographou, Athens

An urban development, a 9+5 storey building complex with 95 apartments, a shopping plaza and 225-car underground parking.

Located at the urban boarder line, where Zografou dense residential neighborhood ends abruptly to the wooded foothills of mount Ymettos, the plot is characterized by -- more --open views towards both the mountain side at NE and the Athens cityscape and the sea at the SW.
.
ERGO 7 architects design chose to emphasize on this ‘urban edge’ condition: The building`s outer shell to participate and continue the ‘urban street façade’ that forms the outside wall-border between built and unbuilt space. To curve it inwardly, creating a recess, that forms a triangular urban plaza at street level and conveys a welcome entrance feeling. As a result the building's shell is maximized to allow for ample deployment of small apartments targeted to young couples and students at the nearby campus.
